This classic cocktail, named after a silent film from 1922 starring Rudolph Valentino, served as the inspiration for the eponymous members-only supper and cocktail club in St. Louis.

Blood and Sand

1/2 oz Peter Cherry Heering Liqueur
1/4 oz or less Noilly Prat Sweet Vermouth
1 1/2 oz Isle of Skye Scotch Whisky, 8 yr
1 oz fresh Blood Orange Juice
Garnish: orange twist, maraschino cherry

Add all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well. Serve in a martini glass. Garnish with an orange twist and maraschino cherry.
