Gin cocktails: Cool as a cucumber and Gin Blossom

by Kris Mulkey

They key to a good gin cocktail is pairing the ingredients with the flavors of the gin. Bluecoat gin has earthy, spicy notes – so think about using sweet citrus flavors to balance with the spicy. Here are two classic cocktails to try.

COOL AS A CUCUMBER

2 oz. Bluecoat American Dry Gin®
2-3 Cucumber Wheels
Lemonade
Ginger Ale

Muddle 2-3 cucumber wheels in the bottom of a highball glass with a dash of Ginger Ale. Fill glass with ice. Add 2 oz. of Bluecoat and fill rest up with lemonade stopping an inch or 2 from the top and finish with Ginger Ale. Stir to combine flavors and garnish with a cucumber wheel.

THE GIN BLOSSOM

2 oz. Bluecoat American Dry Gin®
1 oz. St. Germain
½ oz. fresh lemon juice
Splash of Chambord

Shake all ingredients over ice and serve in martini glass.
