We love starting the new year trying new things, don’t you? Check out Caliche Rum. A super-premium white rum created by Roberto Serrallés and Rande Gerber.
Amazing things happen when a renowned sixth-generation family-owned rum business (Destilería Serrallés) and a prominent hospitality and nightlife impresario get together (Rande Gerber).
The end result is a beautifully complex and smooth aged white rum that works wonderfully in cocktails and can also be sipped on the rocks.
The Taste
Upon first sip, you will experience an immediate rum flavor with a velvety texture that is followed by hints of caramel and vanilla. A citrus flavor lingers slightly, providing a crisp note, then cleanly disappears with light tannins and oak flavor. Whether you sip it neat, on the rocks, or mixed in a cocktail, you will see that this super premium white rum is unlike any you’ve had before.
Mix up a Cali Kick for an exotic cocktail which pairs beautifully with Thai, Indian or Asian food.
Cali Kick
2 oz Caliche Rum
¼ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz Agave Nectar
¼ oz Cream
1/8 tsp Curry Powder
Small piece of Thai Chili
In a mixing glass, lightly muddle the Thai Chili. Add the remaining ingredients, fill with ice and shake until well chilled. Strain into an ice filled rocks glass. Best served immediately.
