One of the hottest liqueurs in 2012 was St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur.
The liqueur is sweet smelling with flavors of apricot, lychee and grapefruit. It’s quite lovely on its own as something to sip after dinner, and is really delicious mixed with some bubbly.
Here’s a festive Champagne cocktail perfect for tonight.
Elderflower Royale
INGREDIENTS
1 small sugar cube
10 dashes angostura bitters
1 ounce St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
6 ounces chilled Chandon Brut sparkling wine
INSTRUCTIONS
Soak the sugar cube with the bitters and place it in the bottom of a chilled champagne flute. Add the elderflower liqueur, top with the sparkling wine, and serve.
Tip: Go easy on the bitters and St. Germain. They can overpower the bubbly.
