It’s National Kahlúa Day! I suggest we imagine what it would be like if the day became an official holiday, recognized by Uncle Sam. This would mean no work, no commute, no boss, no reply-alls, just a day at home with family or friends, drinking Kahlua.
For your first meal, you would probably pamper yourself by enjoying breakfast in bed. Perhaps you’d eat a couple waffles, a few scrambled eggs, maybe a pastry, each served with a piping hot coffee mixed with Kahlúa French Vanilla. You’d read every section of the paper, catch the entire Dan Patrick show, and stay tucked in as long as your little heart desired.
Kahlúa French Vanilla Coffee
4 ounces freshly brewed coffee
1 ounce Kahlúa French Vanilla
For lunch you’d try to find a spot somewhere outside if it’s warm enough, armed with a good magazine, your phone, and if you were optimistic, some sunscreen. Checking work emails would wait, that never-ending honey-do list would wait, and squeezing in a workout would definitely wait. You’d indulge in a long lunch and enjoy a Kahlúa Hazelnut uninterrupted and guilt-free.
Kahlúa Hazelnut & Coke
2 ounces Kahlúa Hazelnut
2-4 ounces Coke or Diet Coke
After you’ve had that long day of relaxation, you’re exhausted. Doing nothing is more work than you anticipated. Curling up with a good book, a few bites of chocolate, and a rich, sweet Kahlúa Midnight will be the perfect way to end the day.
Kahlúa Midnight & Cream
1.5 ounces Kahlúa Midnight
1.5 ounces cream
Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish
You drift off to sweet dreams, and count down the days to February 27th, 2014.
Well this doesn’t have to be a dream because the good news is that you don’t need a day off to enjoy some Kahlúa. Toast the occasion today or any other day with your favorite Kahlúa flavor or Kahlúa cocktail. You deserve it!
