New world wines and an easy appetizer

by Rachel Voorhees

It’s that time of year! We’re throwing parties, attending holiday get-togethers, and taking advantage of the festive spirit this season brings.

Here my favorite party wines that are easy-drinking, palate-pleasing and quite affordable, plus a simple and tasty appetizer you can whip together with ingredients from BevMo!

Gloria Ferrer Brut Sparkling Wine

Everyone loves to celebrate the holidays with bubbles – they’re festive, fun to drink and make every guest feel special. Gloria Ferrer Sparkling Wine Brut has balanced textures and rich flavors and pairs well with everything.

Conundrum White Wine

The white wine lovers at your holiday party will thank you for serving 2011 Conundrum White Table Wine. This wine is called Conundrum because you never know what the exact blend of grapes is in this wine. It’s full of ripe fruit flavors, a creamy texture and lingering finish. Conundrum is a delicious all-night party sipper, an all-around palate-pleaser and will pair smashingly with the mini croccantini cracker appetizer!

Belle Glos Pinot Noir Meiomi

The 2011 Belle Glos Pinot Noir Meiomi is the perfect red to finish out my three recommendations. The wine is comprised of Pinot Noir grapes from Monterey, Santa Barbara and Sonoma counties, all having the perfect climate for growing a cool-climate variety like Pinot Noir. Delicious red fruits, dark cherries and spices make this a smooth, supple and well-balanced wine perfect for holiday parties and dinners.
